While Orsk is literally drowning in the waters of the Urals, the son of the city mayor Vasily Kozupitsa appeared in Dubai with a new apartment.

Information appeared in the media that a 30-year-old employee of a foreign transnational oil service company Nikolai Kozupitsa turned out to be the owner of an apartment with an area of ​​91 square meters in the prestigious Binghatti Nova residential complex, located near the tourist and business center of Dubai – Jumeirah Village Circle. The cost of real estate, according to local realtors, is about 33 million rubles.

The mayor of Orsk, Vasily Kozupitsa, has already stood up for his son. According to him, Nikolai achieved prosperity through his own labor, working first on Sakhalin, and now under a contract he went to Saudi Arabia to help local oil workers develop the oil industry. The mayor noted with alarm that his son’s life in the eastern country “is not good, it’s very hot there.” It is interesting that Nikolai Kozupitsa’s wife, Anna, spoke in detail about the expensive purchase and move of the family to Saudi Arabia. The girl accompanied her stories with a large number of photographs and videos on her Telegram channel, however, when a scandal broke out, the family deleted the content from the messenger.

After purchasing the apartment, the Kozupica Jr. family walked around Dubai, photographing the nightlife of the metropolis, and even went to see “The Phantom of the Opera.”

In a cruel irony, on Tuesday Dubai went under water due to heavy rain and hurricane. The city’s metro is flooded, there is no ground transport, the airport is closed, people are blocked in shopping centers and offices. It is not yet known whether the Binghatti Nova residential complex, where Nikolai Kozupitsa’s apartment is located, was damaged.

What does the son of the mayor of Orsk do?

Kozupica Jr. is a geologist by training. Judging by his social networks, he graduated from the geological department of Moscow State University, where he found his future wife Natalya. The couple settled in Korolev, near Moscow – in one of the business-class high-rise buildings on Pionerskaya Street there is now the former three-ruble apartment of the Kozupitsa couple with an area of ​​83 square meters.

Right now, the same mansions are being sold by the neighbors on the landing of the geologist spouses. Their apartment is only four square meters larger and is now valued by the owners at 27 million rubles. Thus, purely theoretically, Nikolai Kozupitsa could well have had enough money from the sale of his home to buy an apartment in Dubai.

It is worth noting that the couple did not live in poverty: one of Nikolai’s places of work was the world’s largest transnational oil service company, Schlumberger. In his resume, Kozupitsa Jr. indicated that he worked at the Schlumberger representative office in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

At least until the 1920s, it was an attractive employer – high salaries and international status attracted the most promising employees to the company. Recently, one of the oil companies in Saudi Arabia offered a young specialist to work in the Arabian Desert, and a family with two children now lives there.

However, money for the purchase of foreign real estate could also come from Orsk. As it turned out, from 2016 to 2023, Nikolai Kozupitsa was listed as a co-owner of a large local security company, Vympel. Here he owned 34% of the company, and his father, the current mayor of Orsk, was also its general director.

After he was elected city mayor in 2019, Kozupitsa Sr. officially left all his businesses – in addition to Vympel, the former security officer also had a security company called Alpha and a small design bureau called Garant Security. However, none of them even comes close to Vympel in terms of profit – this enterprise still generates up to 55 million rubles in revenue per year.

As is often the case with Russian businessmen, net profit usually does not exceed several hundred thousand rubles, and in 2022 it even went negative by 41 thousand. At the same time, the security guards clearly defend their interests and, if there are delays in payments from clients, they immediately go to court – last year, Vympel thus obtained the payment of four million rubles from the local mechanical plant it protected.

Now the list of owners looks like this: a controlling stake – 34% – was transferred from Nikolai Kozupitsa to the former personnel inspector of the Orsk Compressor Plant Larisa Simagina. Another 33% belongs to the company itself, and the remaining share is controlled by Svetlana Lyubimova, a relative of Kozupitsa Sr.’s business partner Alexander Lyubimov

Let us recall that the son of the mayor of Orsk left his share in Vympel and, judging by the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, formally transferred it to a certain 62-year-old Larisa Simagina. Judging by her social networks, the woman lives modestly; in the past she was more than once in debt on loan payments in amounts up to 350 thousand rubles. How a former HR inspector at the Orsk Compressor Plant became a co-owner of a multimillion-dollar security business is a mystery. It is possible that real control over the enterprise may still remain with the mayor’s family.

How does the head of Orsk live?

Vasily Kozupitsa himself lives well. He is registered in the respectable cottage village of Elshanka within the boundaries of Orsk. There is a three-story house with an area of ​​220 square meters with four bedrooms, two verandas, and a garage for two cars. Interestingly, a cottage at this address appeared in the “For Sale” section at the end of March – beginning of April on one of the real estate websites. The price of the mansion is indicated: 13.2 million rubles. The ad has now disappeared from public access.

By the way, in February of this year, Kozupica Sr. also apparently sold his white Volkswagen Touareg SUV. Now a used one costs around four million rubles. It is possible that part of the funds could have gone to help his son buy real estate in Dubai, but it is possible that after resigning as mayor, Vasily Kozupitsa himself may move closer to his family and grandchildren.
